Ask A Fit Specialist: Should I Wear A Bra To Bed?

Our team of Fit Specialists is here to help you find bras that feel like they were made for you. We’ve worked with thousands of women to find their perfect fit, so we’re sharing some of our best advice here.

When it comes to sleeping with a bra on, rumors abound. Some say it prevents sagging. (It doesn’t.) Others say it’s bad for your health. (It’s not.) And Marilyn Monroe was reported to have slept in a bra every night. (Only Marilyn knows for sure.)

We say the only rule around wearing a bra to bed is comfort. While smaller-breasted women may find it more comfortable to sleep braless, larger-breasted women or nursing mothers may want gentle support at night. Assuming your bra isn’t so tight that it’s cutting off circulation, there’s absolutely no risk to your health by sleeping in a bra. (And if it somehow your bra is that tight, ditch it immediately for a better fitting one! Our Fit Specialists can help you find a perfect fit.)

If you do decide to sleep with support, choose a bra that’s soft and moves with you, like our Seamless Lounge Bra. After all, no one wants to wake up to a twisted band and cups in the wrong places. To make sure your bra isn’t too tight, you should be able to slip two fingers between the band and your ribcage.
