Peeking Through: The Lingerie Trends of Fashion Week

The runway shows in New York this past fall flew in the face of some conventional wisdom regarding the way in which lingerie works with clothing. Notably, the “rules” dictating that if you’re bra is going to show, it should never be the same color as your shirt, and that it should never under any sartorial circumstance be white, no longer apply.

But even as the rulebook gets rewritten in some areas, in another, we’re seeing some serious staying power as the visible black bra—once, in a time long ago, a taboo—seems on the verge of becoming a classic look (which is just fine by us).

We’ve combed the shows for these trends and more, from black to white to sleepwear to underwear. Here are six major lingerie trends from New York Fashion Week’s spring 2016 collections…
