Hello, 2017? Is that you? Seriously: where have you gone?
The first day of fall is right around the corner (September 22) and we’re having a hard time coming to terms that this year is more than half over. But, the good news for us is the calendar is about to turn a page to one of our favorite seasons ever: fall.
Whether you couldn’t be happier it’s autumn or if you’re dragging your feet that summer’s over, here are some items you can find on Team ThirdLove’s bucket list for the upcoming season:
1. Find an apple orchard.
It wouldn’t really be fall without a trip to the orchard or pumpkin patch, would it? Dedicate a weekend before it gets too cold to taking a road trip and picking up some produce (plus snacks!). Stop at a roadside fruit stand while you’re at it—or even stay the night and make a weekend out of it!
2. Go to wine country (or your version of wine country).
With wine country about an hour north of San Francisco, we’re dying to spend a slow weekend up at Scribe Winery sipping on Pinot Noir and snacking on a cheese plate.
3. Prepping our kitchens for fall.
The start of a new season is a perfect time to clear out your kitchen and get inspired for fall food. Dare we say it can even be fun? This advice from Food 52 on how to prepare your kitchen for fall is the advice we’ll be following this weekend.
4. Take a fashion risk!
Fall fashion is notoriously all about layers—but it’s also a time to take some fashion risks. Red, plaid, and midi skirts are trending, but our favorite style for fall is definitely the bodysuit. With our newly launched lace bodysuit, we’re dreaming of all of the ways to style it for holiday parties, family gatherings, and work occasions.
5. Cozy up and binge-watch some new shows.
Hello, Twin Peaks, Narcos Season 3, and Ozark! And, we can’t wait to spend all of fall underneath a blanket, on our couch, binge-watching new Netflix shows to our heart’s desire.
6. Read a good book.
Is it just us, or are there SO many books to read this year? The best roundup we’ve seen thus far is from Vogue (of course) in the form of their What to Read This Fall list. A few at the top of our list include Sour Heart by Jenny Zhang, a compilation of stories about immigrant girls in New York City.
